< Mother`s Sunset >
Each day my mother
Cuts a length ofsunset
And hides it in her bosom,
That sunset over Yonghwa Temple
Where Father passed by, showing his back,
Leaving a few gingko nuts.
"Youbrdthers, live in harmony with each other."
Each time she says this like a last testament
My heart pounds
Lest she, without my knowing,
Should hide in the sunset.

< Word 6 : Thorns >
Cast them away
The thoms hiding in your words.
You must speak like the stars in the night sky,
Words htat live and breathe like precious stones.
Your thom-studded words
Merely loiter at my side
Like fishing rods going after the goldfish.
